I have a 2002 harley fat boy. When adjusting the clutch the manual says to turn the adjuster 1/2 to 1 full turn out. What do you guys turn it out to? If I turn it out 1/2 turn will it clunck when I change gears or will it clunk when I change gears by turning it 1 full turn out?
Yup 3/4 turn. Its gonna clunk regardless. Its what H-D transmissions do. Id try gear oil in the transmission if you dont already. 80w-90 or 75w-140. Helps a lot.

I used the bottle on the right in my Electra Glide - there is no clunking.
But there really wasn't any clunking with engine oil in all three holes like the previous owner had.

Yup, 3/4 turn... Harley transmissions have always had the distinctive clunk, type of oil/fluids may reduce the noticeable sound but never completely eliminate. I prefer Amsoil, smooth shifting, engine runs quieter, etc., maybe a little more pricey but money well spent. In my opinion...
I just don't get ant kind of clunk in my 2008 Electra Glide.
Not when I bought it at the beginning of this summer with whatever the previous owner had in there or now with Sprectro in there.
Although I'm new to Harley and don't have much to compare it to other than 50 years of Hondas that none ever had clunks in either.
