2012 Fat Boy wiring
Hi,
i have a 2012 Fatboy, that is a U.K. spec bike however, i want to have the front turn signals operate in the same way the U.S. spec bikes work, meaning i can run a white running light, with an amber turn signal.
I was wondering if anyone on here knows what parts i would need for this? I'm assuming it's just a wiring difference?
I've asked a couple of my local dealers but, they're of little help as they have both said the same... "we don't know, we've never worked on a U.S. bike".
I'm really hoping someone on here may know the answer. The closest I've got to an answer is, that the wiring loom is the same on U.K. & U.S. bikes, right up to the turn signals, at which point the U.S. bikes have three wires to the turn signal housing & the U.K. bikes, only two. Does anyone know the differences &/or how to do this, what parts i need etc...
Any help on this would be much appreciated.

The US domestic bikes I think you will find have an amber lens with a dual filament bulb. The running light therefore will be 5Watt amber and the indicator will be 21Watt amber.
Your HDI bike has a single filament bulb so you would need the domestic market bulb holder that has 3 wires.
Another solution that will give you a white running light and an amber indicator is to fit the Custom Dynamics ringz turn signal. It has the extra wire that will go to the indicator connector, possibly under the tank but don't know your bike.

I have fitted the CD ringz to my bike and put the extra wire in heatshrink along with the existing wires for a neat installation. The connector under the tank is a 6 way with the running light pins empty. I bought the pins to do a proper job so I can remove the ringz if necessary.

The connector for the front indicators is under the tank. The connector, 31, is a 6 place 070 multilock type. The connectors and pins are readily available from other places apart from HD.
