I wouldn’t worry about going to different expensive items to reduce weight.. I’d look into something lighter more manageable.
My 93 FXSTS is down to just at 600lbs with half a tank of gas and oil in it. It started at 636 lbs.
The 36 lbs of weight difference isn’t enough for you I wouldn’t think.
I shaved weight, hollow chromoly axle, chromoly bolts wherever I could (all brake bolts front and back, aluminum rear sprocket, Aluminum rear hub and rim. Lithium battery. Front steel hub and rim though, that’s maybe 3-4 lbs I could save. The rear swing arm could be replaced with a Boyd Cottington if I ever found one. Maybe another 4 lbs.

Put a reverse gear on it. Cheap kits from ebay should do well enough.
Put a reverse on my Road King some years ago for the same reason. Made it a much more manageable bike, for me.
