Default Mystery Plug

I'm a fan of purging the oil from the engine case as part of an oil change. I made my own scavenger and it's its really not that much of a p.i.t.a. However, I was told by someone who says he's a certified master level Harley mechanic, that there is a threaded plug on the bottom of the engine on my 1993 Heritage Classic for draining that oil in the case. Only problem is that I can't find it. Any truth to the existence of said plug???

There is no drain plug on the crankcase of a Harley Evolution Softail engine.

@touchdown EVO Softails do not have an oil pan.

I was thinking that also

Yeah, I didn't think there was a plug because in the five years I've had the bike I never saw one

I knew there was no oil pan on an Evo.

Ironheads had them and woe betide anybody foolish enough to remove one....VERY fine threads that usually came out with the plug!

There have been many times when I wished the Evo Softail had an oil pan under the transmission, that oil tank seems to be in the way much of the time, although I have gotten pretty fast removing and installing it at this point.

The Scavenger puck is a quick way to flush the oil.
You're wasting oil and time if you do it more than every 6 oil changes.

I have changed the oil several times on my 95 Dyna and never noticed another drain plug under there. Then again, I never looked for it either.
