I bought this 03 Screamin Eagle deuce last July for a good price....it wasnt much more than what you looking at for that one. I fell in love with it after the first ride, and if you know anything about the cost of CVO-SE models you will know exactly why I jumpped all over it! With either the Badlander seat or the HD Custom Leather seat I can get about 2 hours out of it. With the stock seat I am goo for all day rides.....but mine has foward controls, and its lowered at both ends. I did get sick of using it for a "all purpose" bike, so last Oct I bought a 2008 Street Glide....and now I got the best of both worlds...one bike for touring, and one for around town type of stuff.
I have the 2007 Deuce. Great ride and looks. I replaced the bars with Tbars and pipes with V&H BSS. Amazing how much just those two changes made to the look of the bike. Looking to replace seat next to lower the stance. Most rides only around 200 miles max so comfort not so much of an issue. Can always put stock seat back in need.
The Deuce is a great cruiser so if you like thebike then just get it. Over the next 20 years, who cares about the extra few hundred bucks in cost now. Only an issue if you plan to sell it again in the short term.
I bought my 06 Duece 2600 miles, fuel injected, for 14k
Sounds like you are getting a decent deal, you should be able to talk the price down a little bit too, if its at a dealer.
That deal doesn't seem too far out of line. You could probably get them down a little more too. But for the same price or maybe just a little more you could probably get an '07 with the 96 in. engine and the 6 speed tranny. I love mine it's comfortable as hell for me.
