Cams???
I have a 2012 Harley fatboy with 103. Don't know much about this. What cam to use WoodTW222 are SE255. I have Sampson pipes, high flow air breather, and a power vision tune in it now. My Dyno run base line shows 86.34HP & 104.58TQ. What to do. I ride solo more often than not and I'm 245lbs. Not looking for a rocket just more power and tourqe passing in 6th gear. My Harley shop asked me if the 2 grand be worth the marginal upgrades. What to do are what else t help numbers. Don't really wat to spend a fortune like doing a lot of motor are head work.. ideas and help info needed

Does it have OEM cams in it now? Pretty good numbers for a 2012 103" with Stage I (just air cleaner, exhaust, & tune).....
My 2016 Stage I, with canned tune map, did 78HP & 100TQ... The 2016s came with a better cam than the 2012s...
I eventually did cams in my 2016 and got 135HP & 151TQ....
Of course, the cams cam inside a 124" S&S crate engine..
In any case,
Since you already have it, I'd stick with the PowerVison tuner for future tuning.
I'd then contact a Shop you have confidence in. I've used FuelMoto (WI) with good success. There also others I would recommend; Hillside Cycles (NY), Powerhouse Cycle & Dyno (MO), GMR Performance (IA). But any Shop YOU have proven confidence in should work...
Tell them what you have, what you want, and what they would recommend.... They make their reputation on performance mod combos that they have used...
If you trust them, trust their judgement.
Good luck with your mods...
"Fuel Moto 103 cam shootout"
They tested 20 different cams
Read it and decide if the cost is worth it to you
I`d say your H-D shop is being honest about cost vs benefits
IMO if you have to pay for the install I`d leave it alone and downshift out of 6th

I know it's not cams but would a drive ratio upgrade be a possible solution? Listed in the "sticky" section, I thought about it but ended up with an easy start 551 cam that operated in the 1000 to4500 rpm range as I normally ride around 2800-3000rpm on my 2011 Heritage
