Default Night Train seat question

Can anyone tell me with a 100% certainty if a Sundowner seat (51570-00A) made for the Fat Boy will fit a 2003 Night Train? The fitment guide says "'00-'05 FX Softail® (except FXSTD)"

I have searched all over the web and this site but can't find an answer. My train is a little different in that it has a heritage rear fender BUT I don't think the rear seat screw location has changed. My current seat is a Diamondback and it bolts on perfectly.

Any clarity provided to Harley's clearly inadequade fitment guide would be appreciated.

Your Train is an FX Softail. If the book says '00-'05 FX, it'll fit. It won't fit the FXSTD because that is a Deuce and they have the longer tank, shorter seat combo. I can tell you that the Sundowner is probably the most comfortable seat that Harley makes. I have one for my Train ('06) for riding 2-up.

Thanks bro you rock. I appreciate the feedback on the Sundowner as well. I also figured out that my local HD stealer will allow me to test fit the seat at the store.

the FL and FX seats have a bit different sizebracket, but you can unscrew the bracket off of your stock seat and bolt it on the sundowner if you want. OR just buy the right size bracket and then you can change out either seat. I bought a sundowner a year ago and it's proly the most comfortable seat I've been on. If I remember right the FL bracket is about a 1/2 inch longer? don't remember now...anyhow, it'll work either way

Just went a put the sundowner on my scoot. I didn't like how it looked. It is almost "too" touring. It looks comfortable for the passenger but I am aftaid its a little too wide in the passenger dept. I think it looks good on jimbbike because it soo damn low!!! :-)

The search goes on. Gonna look at a Corbin Young Guns or possibly a Rallyrunner. Any other input?? Thanks.
