Thank you for the advice Niv but in Scotland they are both rare and costly, plus for me motorbikes are about doing your own modifications and finding away around a problem with some help if needed. I’m a bus driver and don’t earn a great deal so self repair is a must for me.

2002 Softails use sealed bearing part number 9267. It's for a 3/4" axle.
I'm guessing if you use the 9267 sealed bearings and the correct spacers you'll be able to use the earlier wheel.

Thank you that’s well worth trying, I will have a look at bearings tomorrow after work 👍

You can't use the #9267 3/4" Sealed Bearing in that new-to-you 99-earlier Tapered Roller Bearing wheel. The sealed bearings have a larger OD.

Does that "Set" of spacers contain 3 spacers?

If you are going to reuse your 2002 pulley/sprocket (also if you going to change to your brake rotor), you may want to use a bushing like this

Hi guys, I’ve checked my axel and it’s 3/4 and the Timkin bearing wheel is 3/4 so I’ve ordered this kit from Vulcan which I’m hoping will do the trick

Good evening guys, got the wheel fitting kit delivered today and it works really well, so simple but very affordable and effective. Thanks to everyone for chipping in and Multihdrdr for putting me on the correct path.
