I'm assuming they are talking about changing the front/rear "final drive" belt
sprockets to alter the "gearing". ie) not talking about changing the gearing in the transmission...

Took a look at that and It will save me 800 bucks. Rejet the cv carb that I have and with a slight mod should do great. Thanks
I agree with your decision to use the CV40 carb.
IMHO.... the Keihin CV40 is an under-rated carb. It suffers from the bad reputation of its predecessor, the Keihin butterfly carb, used on Harley bikes 1975ish to 1989.
You can easily rebuild and retune your CV40 for much cheaper than a new carb, and it will easily handle your planned mods...
