Starter issues
I'm at wits end .. I have a 95 heritage Softail I bought a new starter and put on it everything was fine for about 20 starts went on a trip to Alabama on the way back started quit working got it home took it apart it appeared to be the starter clutch drive so I got a new one and put in it but it still is not on the bench it seems to be working fine soon as I put it on the bike not so much it's throwing out the Jack shaft but it's not spinning and it sounds like it's spinning in the motor I've inspected all the gears and all that kind of stuff they're all seem to be working right I just don't understand what's going on it's not spinning after it throws it out even though it sounds like the motor spinning starter motor

How old is your battery? Have you had it load tested? Could be it is not putting out enough amps to spin the motor over. Does not take much amps to spin a starter over without load.
