Default Help With Tire Sizes on ‘95 FXSTC

What’s the widest tire size I can put on my rear without modification? From my research it appears 140 is the widest, but some say 150? Also would you recommend 140 85 16 or 140 90 16?

As far as the front goes I’d like to get a 21”x3.5” rim and get a 120 70 21. Anyone have any pics of this setup or know if it’ll work?

Any help is greatly appreciated

I had a 140 rear tire on my 98 FXSTC. It fit with no problems. There wasn't room to go any bigger without modifications.

A 140 tire can vary in actual measurement from different manufacturers and tire models.

I ran a Metzler 880 in 150-80 16 on my Evo and Night Train with no mods for years my Train has A 170-65 16 now with basic mods. A 160 -16 fits with minor mods. All bolt on. PM for more info or search my posts for how to.

I wish I could find someone that has put a mu85b16 shinko 777 on the rear of a evo softail just to verify it’s not going to hit the belt/guard/splash guard.

Certainly either one can be "trimmed' for a bit of clearance
