So which kit is it that makes the lights look closer together?
I can't stand the wider option and I don't want to order the wrong one.
Also, having just read all the posts there's two different accounts of fitting. One where you remove the tank and the other where you dont?? Which is it?
To buy the kit from HD UK and have it installed in the UK I'm talking $800-$900 which is bullsh*t. I wonder if they'll pull the warranty card on me if I do it myself!
The install is very easy provided you have the right one. There are two types. If you ride a 2007 on then you will need the new bar. The previous bar will only fit up to 2006
+1 on that, I started this threadover 2 years ago, but hey its still helping people. I now have the Aux light kit for Fatboy P/N 69287-07 and the Bullet turn signal relocation kit P/N 69079-04 along with the reflector lens lamps P/N 68348-05 and last but not least, the smoked turn signal lenses P/N 69304-02 and frenched trim rings for the passing lamps P/N69622-99Band headlight trim ring P/N 69627-99
Just a note. I believe that if you think you might be adding a windshield, you need a different p/n light kit. I did my Fatboy 1 1/2 yrs. ago and as I suffer from CRS( Can't Remember Sh*t) I vaguely remember 2 different p/n's. I think there were different screws and spacers.
Had a buddy's heritage behind me one night and could not see his stock turn signals flashing when he had his spot lights on. I went to the Kuryakan Turn signal mirrors and removed to stock signals. Gives the bike a retro look (no bulky turn signals) and they are bright too. I can see the reflection off the ground when I ride. In the back I went to strut mounted LED lights (yes they clear the Heritage saddlebags because they are mounted to the end and not the side of the render strut). Removed the 'ugly' turn signal bar. See the direction I'm going, RETRO. In my opinion, it really cleans up the bike and going LED, they really light up. Only problem is if a rider is behind me to the right, they can't see my left turn signal (and visa versa). When riding in a group, I use hand signals anyways.
