here's, a couple of pics before I fattened up so you could see what your bike will look like, depending on you mechanical abilities this is really pretty straight forward
the biggest problem you will have is removing the gas tank to get to the wiring harness but this is really pretty easy also , a little messy ( you will spill a little gas). but all in all it took me about 4 beers to finish the project.

Hi Chris,

Have the light bar and twin driving lamps on my 01 Fatboy. Pic is side on only, will try to get a front on view. AS for ease of fitting, afraid the dealer did it, but the bike was pre owned and he took the light bar from anothger bike in the showroom as part of the deal, beacause there was already a screen fitted to both bikes (but different fittings) he had to switch out the screens before the light bar would fit.

I definitely think it is worth the effort to do, even ignoring the obvious benefits for night riding and day time visibility, it really finishes off the whole Fatboy front end.

Good luck.

I'm interested as well in this one but the reasoning for me is to get those bullet lights off the handlebars.

Don't know if there's another option for FL bikes other than going to the full lightbar..

I kinda like the clean look of the fatboy without the bar myself but unless there's a really cool way of mounting the signal lights to the forks or frame, without interfering with the detach windshield. I'm kinda stuck at looking back at lightbars. Are there any other solutions? The catalogs aren't much help in seeing the end result.

Thanks. Now I'm confused. I really like it both ways. With and without light bar. Geez, I just want everything I see!! I can't stand it. I need to win a lot of money fast.

hehe! I'm bad for that.. sorry!
I guess a person could go either way.
If I were gonna do it, I'd really consider the version that's on the deluxe.. I like the way they smoothed out the bar.
Of course, I'd have to go ahead and chrome out the front end too and do the handlebar project I've been putting off like FOREVER.
Can't decide if it's time, cash or both that's keeping me from it.

I got the deluxe light kit, added the factory softail classic lamps to match the headlight, added HID and bright white bulbs in the spot lights to match. I wanted the chrome cover behind the headlight so I went with the deluxe kit. I also added the deep rings around all the lights front and back and use the smoke lens for the front and back turn signals.

Installation was not too bad, I did have to loosen the gas tank so I could unplug the turnsignals and wire in the new ones but I'm not sure if that's with every kit or not.
