I have big shot longs on a 07 Heritage, with the standard baffles it is VERY loud, but I did notice a bit of a hesitation off the line. I put the quiet baffles in and clearly, it does help increase the low end torque, not horsepower. There is nothing like the sound of the straight baffles, but the quiet baffles still sound nice and are louder than any SE product and many other pipes and they perform better for sure.
I added the V&H quiet baffles to my BSS about 6 months ago. I noticed a little more torque at low end and the sound became a bit more bassy. I was happy with both results. Don't think it made a difference in HP.
Has anyone removed the baffles completely? How loud are we talking? I have VH shortshots arriving this week for my 08 train, and I was planning to remove the baffles. IMHO, the louder the better.
I loved the sound of the stock baffles, however put in the quiet just to see the difference. I believe there is a bit more torque and I love the low loud grumble it has now....just took a bit of the "crack" out of it. Love it!!!
