Default How do you "anti fog" a windshield ??

I have a windshield that a friend gave me a long time ago. I've only used it here and there while doing toy runs in December. Other than that, I never use it.

I put it on last week for a trip to Pittsburgh just to see how well it would work at highway speeds since I'll be leaving for Myrtle next week and it worked well. I've left it on since I'll be leaving this friday. Saturday I took my scoot out for a ride and later that night the windshield was totally fogged out. I couldn't see throiugh it at all. No matter how much I wipped it, the fog stayed. I couldn't see a damn thing through it !!

Question .... What do you guy's use to prevent the fog?

I've never cleaned the windshield with anything other than just water.

Thanks !!

hey Mayfair.....
When I bought my shield at Harley....they recommended this product...
NOVUS 1 Plastic clean & shine...
it says: antifog, antistatic, dust repellent...for use on all plastic surfaces..
I bought it at the dealer for $3.95
unfortunately I haven't used it yet....so I don't know how good it works...
but the guy behind the counter says thats the only thing he uses on his roadking....

For my whole bike, including the windscreen, I use Honda's spray Cleaner & Polisher. A neighbor of mine gave me a can to try and I have used it ever since. He use to ride a Goldwing, now he owns a StreetGlide.

My shield doesn't fog, rain beads off and it does a great job getting the bug-splat off of everything else, including the pipes after they cool off.

Another "old-timer" told me that the Honda product wasn't much different than spray-can Pledge furniture polish. I haven't tried that yet, but I guess it is cheaper than the Honda stuff at $6/can. Any rice-burner store will sell it. It's a tall can with pink & black labels.

I've heard of some folks using RainX, but I think I heard on here somewhere that it wasn't too good for Lexan screens over the long haul. I don't know. I've used rainX on my cages and it works great after you get all the streaks buffed out after seventeen attempts.

I'm sure regular paste wax will work too. After I wax the tins I use the polishing cloth and go over the screen too, usually. I use the Honda stuff daily, wax monthly.
