Default twin cam engines A or B

I am new to the site and I have a2002 nighttrain, I also have alot of spare parts I am going to build a bike but when I go to the shop I don't want to look like an idiot. I have top end left over from my big bore kit and I would like to build an engine for my new ride. Can someone tell me the difference between the twin cam A engine and the twin cam B engine. thanks for your help all.

You have a B in your bike with a counterbalancer set up that helps smooth it out.

You have a B engine. The softail models are hard mounted to the frame. If you opted to put an A engine on your bike it would really shake. The A engines on the big twins are rubber mounted to absorb the shaking when the bike is moving.
