Nothing wrong with them. They add a few pounds of weight to the motor, but they really dont hurt hp or longevity in anyway. Unless your a hardcore horsepower fanatic who spends more time at the strip than he does on the street keep em in there.

Alot of people ask that same question. They should have IMO, but they probably didnt since the baggers use the Dyna frame. They probably felt the Dyna was a better overall platform for the bagger due to the superior rear suspension setup. HD probably found out that its cost prohibitive to make a 3rd style frame just for the baggers. HD's big thing is "one part fits all" mentality in mfg. their bikes. Sometimes its great and makes sense , other times it makes you cringe! [:@]
