2007 FXSTC with SE AC, V&H Bighshot Staggards and V&H Fuelpack. The bike surges at low speeds regardless of RPM. I'd have to say under 30mph for the most part. Any ideas/suggestions?
My stock 07 FXSTC does the same thing. Basically it's too lean in those conditions. In my case, 1st ,2nd and 3rd it's noticable in a fixed throttle position, as in a jerky ride. Past that it smooths out. How do you like the pipes , as that's what I'm planning on ordering? What baffles did you go with? Ron
It surges all the time, mostly in 1st or 2nd gear in a fixed throttle position. It doesn't matter if it's cold, warm or other, it just surges a bit and is unerving.
rbabos: I really like the exhuast - lud but not obnoxious. The baffles are what came with them as I never touched them. The dealership put then on before I took delivery and that was all.
I've tolerated mine since April and this winter a Tmax is going on. That should be the end of it. As in your case it makes no difference hot or cold. Ron
Tmax won't help. I've had one for over seven months and mine surges. I think the problem is the primary chain compensator .... something, somethingdo hicky thingy. Try a search. It's been discussed. But, I wouldn't buy the Tmax just to fix this problem. It's a great product that I highly recommend. But, it won't fix the surging.
I do not have a answer to your problem but if it makes you feel any better maybe it is a common issue with the 07 models? I have a 07 Heritage, SE AC, V&H Big Shot Staggered with a SERT that was tuned by the dealer and I have the same thing going on with mine as you described. I just roll a little bit of throttle on to take it up a few MPH or kick it up one gear higher & that seems to help.
