Default Please help...advice on price!!!!!

I currently own a 1200N (black and olive denim). Sweet bike, but want to take up some more space in the garage (go more in debt)and own amore practicalcruising / travelbike. I just can't bring myself to sell this Nightster...so it willbe an addition.

A local dealer has the 2003 100th Anniversary Heritage Classic for $14,700. It has 13K miles, about 5K worth of chrome (front end, etc). Also has upgraded seats. It is advertised as MINT and it truly looks like it is. How does this price size up? Has it taken most of its hit in depreciation?

Thanks for any and all input. I don't want to make a bad purchase. It seems that this bike has hit the low point in valueand shouldmaintain or increaseits long termvalue if cared for correctly.

God bless!!!

www.hdtrader.com

This will at least help you compare prices. And you are generally going to pay more at a dealer than an individual.

Do you advise using this site? I went to it and shopped a little. Buying from an individual can sometimes be risky, whereas the dealer is likely to warrant most issues for atleast a period of time. You're right...I did notice the prices were better when they were not through dealers. My concern was whether or not the anniversary bike will hold it's value, especially with the amount of $ this guy put into the bike with chrome. Thanks!!

Any chrome added to a bike will not increase the value. You are basically donating that to the next buyer.
The last bike I bought had over $4k in chrome and preformance items and I got it for slightly more than the trade in value and several thousand less than retail.
And I bought it from a HD dealer. Look around deals abound.

SEEMS TO BE AVERAGE MARKET PRICE IF YOU LIKE IT AND THE DEAL FEELS GOOD BUY IT MOST OF THE DEPRESIATION COME WHEN YOU LEAVE THE SHOW ROOM .
HERITAGE'S ARE GREAT . AROUND TOWN SPORTY AND LONG DISTANCE CRUISERS
ONCE YOU RIDE THE HERITAGE FOR A WHILE THE NIGHTSER WILL COLLECT DUST AND DEPRESIATE FAST . IF TH 5K IN CHROME IS THE STUFF YOU WOULD ADD ANYWAY TAKE THAT FROM THE PURCHASE PRICE AND LOOK AT THE DEAL $9700.
BUTI THINK THE 5K IN CHROME INCLUDES LABOR CHARGES??
