I found a local dealer that told me they would sell me a new 2008 Road King classic for MSRP $18,680.00 ( Pacific blue with security) and Tax only OTD, Should i try for more or not push it?
thats what I paid for the "anniversary edition" and according to HD dot com, the anniversary paint is an additional 1200 bucks. If salse are slow at your dealership, try to get them to go lower, or toss in some extras. You want it for as less as you can get it, they want to sell it for as much as you are willing to pay.
If it's the "ONE" you want, only you know what you are willing to pay. I believe you have already made your mind up, now you are looking for some justification. Good Luck on your bartaring abilities and let us know how you faired.
I actually boughtan 08 PBP RKC today.....I'm excited! No sec., ABS, or opt. wheels. It will be 18,600 OTD that includes 5% tax.The next closest dealer to me would not come off MSRP. Basically about 700 bucks off MSRP. Thought that was a reasonable deal. I bought a wide glide in 03 and could not get anyone to come off MSRP. I think the HD market has softened a bit.Hope this helps..........
I think it has allot to do with what a particular dealer needs to do at the time. I would certainly try and talk them down......I had to go back a couple of times. I have not had a chance to see an actual 08 PBP RKC. I looked at about 100 different pics though and in different settings and like it!Don't think I'll be dissapointed. Mine won't be here until Feb.
So it sounds like your saving several hundred on shipping and handling fees. That's not bad, get the 1000 mile service thrown in, probably wont do a whole lot better.
No freight or setup, butI paid a $89 documentation fee plus title xfer, tabs, etc. about $125 above the 17600 for the bike plus the sales tax. lottaaaa money no matter how you slice it!
