I have thought about shipping, but figured it would cost lots more than the three day rental is going to cost me. I would love to have my bike to use instead of a rental. And I don't really think it's an option to ride from nh to florida in february....on a sportster no less! I will check into shipping though.

Rent each one for at least a half day and put a few hundred miles of your type of riding onthem (cruise, back roads, fwy ect). My local dealer will split a days rent on two models so that you can test them before buying. For the couple of hundred you will pay it could save thousands if you dont like what you buy and trade in early.

All three (Fatboy, Deluxe and Heritage) are the same basic platform, but feel very different due to bars, seats, floorboards ect.

Im 6' 3" and feel the most comfortable on a Fatboy.

Any of the bikes you are looking at are great in there own right.

already bought my plane tickets! So, unfortunately, no trailering for me. I definately plan on renting a fatboy in the next few weeks and giving it a good workout.

thanks all-

The Fatboy should be just right for you.

I think the heritage you rode had something done to it, I'm only 5' 7" on a good day with thick shoes on and I have no problem reaching my controls. I also didn't have a problem with reaching the ground when I rode it before I got it lowered. Fatboy should be fine for you.
