Hold windshield with both hands, straddle your front wheel, place the bottom of the windshield bracket fork slots onto the lower detachable spindles.Push downward and against the bike at the same timeso the top fork slots press on to the upper spindles. The spring clips will lock when you get it all the way on.

Takes a few attempts but it works.

Be careful not to scratch your headlight bucket when moving the windsheild over it.

I only wish it was that easy ... I keep on wondering if the spring clips arefrom the wrong parts bin.[&o] for me i have now gone to the extreme (but workable solution) of taking off the spring clips, slot the windshield on , then put back the spring clips to lock in .... I know it sounds stupid but they are not going to work otherwise. grzly

It works just as doc_cj described. Seems clunky at first, but now it's a breeze. You should not need to take off the spring clips.

If the forks don't slide too easy over those bushings.. dab an itty bitty amount of grease into the bushing grooves or the forks on the windshield.. It'll probably glide right into place. New ones or a new bike or windshield, sometimes it's a bit tight.

Dinger, you are the man!!! That is the type of answer that people on this forum are looking for when they ask a question! You are a credit to the forum and a real asset. We can all ponder for days and days across the pages of our owner's manuals, shop manuals, and electricalniag'doze'is manuals, and get nowhere. But a simple explanation sometimes clears the way, gets the problem solved, and frees up our time to be with our friends, family, get back out on the highway, whatever. Hope I get you next time I need help!!
Milwaukee......

Also, Be carefulnot the scratch the front of the windshield with your jacket zipper or buttons while you're leaned over trying to find the slots.....unfortunately I learned the hard way....
