I have a new 2008 FATBOY and want to know if I can just get slip on fishtail tips? Does anybody know of a place that has just the fishtail tips without having to buy all new pipes? Thank you.
hmmm.. Depending on the size, you might be able to hang some sampsons off the end of the OEM, but here's the kicker.. good luck getting them attached to a bracket. Might have to fab your own.
Try to get someone to photoshop them for you so you can see what they look like. I saw a Heritage Softail at Biketoberfest that had Fishtails, but did not have true duals. It just didn't look right with both fishtails on the same side, IMO.
I'm not sure that fishtails would look too good on a Fatboy. I like Fatboys and I like fishtails, I'm just not sure I'd like them together. Fishtails have the retro look and look good with the classic series bikes (RKCs, SDs, etc.) and go along well with the old school fenders, white wall tires and one pipe on each side extending through to the back of the bike. Its kinda like putting a fat 200mm tire on a classic series bike...just doesn't match. Who knows, I could be wrong and it would turn out nice.
I am not a big fan of fishtails at all.... but especially when on a fatboy... save your money dude, I reckon it will won't look good or suit the style of bike... just my $0.02 worth anyway.
