Okay so what are you saying, an oil change will help remove a dent from the gas tank?
I've used the dryice on hail damage on a car hood once, it worked. A CO2 fire extinguisher will work too on some of the dents, same principle as the dry ice but more costly. Where I used to work we had liquid nitrogen, the stuff they use to freeze the rose and it shatters, that may work but wouldn't want to spill any on your skin.
Good luck on getting the dent out, I've also tried taking off the tank, filling it water and capping the holes and putting it in the freezer, the water freezes and expands pushing out the dent. Did this on my old honda and it popped out a huge dent I had in the tank, I dried the tank inside for a couple of days before remounting it, but you couldn't tell where the dent was afterwards.
I would order a new tank and be done with it. My wife would have to write the check because I would be in a straight-jacket as a result of trying to kill myself.
Not even a month ago my neighbor did a slow-motion drop of his Street-Glide into a ladder inside his garage. About the same-size dent and broke his HD tank badge. He thought some sort of high pressure air fill would pop the dent. Never worked. The dealership had a new tank for him in days and the paint matched perfect.
Best of luck, it will be all good in no-time.

Sh*t happens...it'll thin the wallet some, but the new tank/custom tinsidea sounds pretty good...and don't forget to put a gremlin bell on your Christmas list
That does suck, and I would probaly puke too.
Order a new matching tank from Harley.
That color you have is a great color and new custom paint job will be over 2 grand.
Thanks for the advice guys. It's like a dark cloud hanging over my head. The GF thinks I'm being too dramatic, but it took me 47 years to get this thing. Anyway, I think I will try the dry ice thing first, and then order a new tank if it doesn't work. I can't afford 2k for a custom paint job at this moment, and my stage1 modification will have to be pushed out a bit. I guess it's not the end of the world. Feel much better reading everyones responses. Who would think that being a member of this forum is like having your own therapist (lol). At least it's rideable, even though looking at it makes me cringe a little.
