Default Trans oil

So I bought a service manual the other day, just to make sure I was doing everything nessicary for my services. Looking at the service interval, the trans oil is due to be changed every 20K miles. So this got me thinking, HD trans Vs. normal manual trans. They are pretty close in design of how they work, so other than feeling better about yourself, there is no real reason to change the trans oil at every 5K service, IMHO its just a way for the dealer to make some more money off you. What do you all think?

I changedmy trans. lubeout to 75-90 Valvoline gear lube (dino) @ 800 miles and won't change again until 10,000 miles when I plan to do a full service...no funny noises, bike shifts smooth, and I sleep like a rock.

I've always changed mine every 10K. Just gets rid of condensation and those nasty little bits of metal.

I change mine about twice a year. cheap investment. Always seems to shift smoother after a change too .
