Outside of the looks and the fact that its freer breating than the stockAC its no better than most and actually not as good as many other aftermarket AC's. At slow speeds it works the same as everyone elses aftermarket Stage 1 AC.
But start going fast and it can actually hurt performance. There is an aerodynamic oddity about the way its shaped and the vents in it that will suck air OUT of the AC instead of jamming it in like it would appear to on looks alone.
Once the bike is up to speed and running at a constant throttle setting the butterflys in front close down some. When that happens they have put vents in the bottom rear where theair is "supposed" to come in through. The only problem with that idea is thatbecause of the airodynamic flow around the AC it actually creates a low pressure zone there thattries to suck the air out through the vents.
If you like it, fine have fun and enjoy. Just don't expect anything more than you'll get from any other Stage 1 style AC.
Yes hyper has a cool look, but too many of us know it's not all it appears to be. I bought the Heavy breather for my 07 fxstc which looks cool too. Not as many people know it could feed a 300 hp chevy and is overkill on a 96ci Harley. Don't tell anyone. Ron
My husband, CNC Wheel Guy, has SE Heavy Breather on his Deluxe. Hot looking addition to the bike.
When I ride his bike, my knee hits it, but that doesn't happen to him.
A Hyper Charger does a great job complimenting a mullet and pair of pointy-snakeskin boots. It' kind brings back that old skoolme and my bike are still living in the 90's look even though I have an 80's haircut.
