Note: I posted this also in the engine forum but there are like 3x as many hits in the softail forum so I thought I would try both.
I have been contemplating a 95" upgrade on my 88.
What have any of you heard about Hemi Design Performance? The technical info on their website all looks good and actually makes sense no voodoo or witchcraft for magical horsepower numbers. http://www.hemidesign.com/
When you dothe 95" upgrade do you need to do the heads also? It would make sense for more flow. I am just starting my research so will appreciate any input.
We've built a lot of motors using Hemi Design heads. Started using them around 1995 and haven't looked back. They make good HP and torque, talk to them about your setup and they will help. The heads have to match the pistons, they can machine your heads for a little less than buying out right. If you have any further questions Pm me and we can discuss them.
I just had my fatboy 88 up yo 95 but didn't go with the standard screaming stage 2 kit rather they peice mealed it together such up grading to a better flowing head and only went with 213 cam and race tuner I just broke it in and had then do the final dyno on it
It made 100hp and 103lbft torque the best money I spent on my bike by far
