Default V&H fuelpak

I have narrowed my pipe selection down to V&H fishtails and V&H fuelpak, however. My bike already has the Stage 1 flash on the ecm and V&H rep couldnt find a program setting for a modded ecm. Has anyone had any trouble with this?

You cannot run a flashed ecu with the fuel pak. The dealer should be able to clear the flash that was done to the ecu and set it back to stock, then you can put the fuel pak on.

Settingthe ECMback to stock also lowers your rev limiter........Screw that.......Skip the Fuelpak.....Get a different tuner......I like my DFO and have installed several for friends with no problems.

If you have a twin cam 96 or 88 "B" motor you would be best advised to maintain the original RPM limit! So go back to stock ECM settigs and add your fuel pak

Why? The MoCo wouldn't be selling the Stage I which is covered by the warranty if it were causing motors to fly apart.

Personally, I don't care for a rev limiter. I prefer to do my own rev limiting with my right hand or right foot. I've owned way more vehicles without a rev limiter than ones with and have never blown one up.

Ok I have been doing alot of reading (sitting in my motel room woohoo). And it seems alot of guys on this forum and many others are running aftermarket exhaust with Stage 1 or highflow airkits, stage1 ecm flash with great success. Several have responded that I will be fine with just slapping the V&H fishtails on and riding it. All the efi modules I have researched show no mapping for the stage 1 ecm flash already installed. I really dont want to pay the stealership to reset the ecm to stock seems like a waste, since the way I understand it the flash just mods. the rev limiter. Anyone have any input on just putting the fishtails on and calling it good for now.

I have a set of V&H straightshots, a Screamin Eagle air cleaner and the HD stage 1 flash. My bike is a 06 and fuel injected and it runs great with this combo. No problems at all.

Ive been researching for the same question. So if I put on a SE air cleaner and aftermarket pipes I can just have the dealer do a stage 1 flash and I wont need to buy an ECM andrun it on a dyno? I justbought an 07 night train and the dealer almost had me convinced I needed the HD race tuner,a reprogram, and a dyno run when I put on the new air cleaner. Then another reprogram and dyno run when I put on new pipes. I was starting to get depressed because it was gonna be almost two grand in "tuning" at the dealer after I got my accesories so Ive been looking on here for the truth.
