I read that article. It seemed to say that the high heat problems were caused by narrow band O2sensors.My understanding was that the 08s have wide band sensors on them.AmI wrong. Do the 08s still have the high heat problem?
The stock air/fuel ratio is way too lean, and will always result in higher heat generated. Getting an aftermarketfuel manager and allowing the engine to breathe better (modified intake air cleaner & opened exhaust) will get you cooled off. Changing to synthetic oils helps additionally.
Simply switching to wideband O2 sensors won't do a thing. The stock ECM doesn't know how to accept a bigger voltage swing to make any different decisions with. The best of the best (relative) is going with the ThunderMax w/auto-tune and w/wideband O2 sensors. This system is a replacement ECM (so nothing to piggyback), much like the SERT; with the biggest change in the onboard firmware that knows how to accept a "wider" voltage swing from new O2 sensors.
