Default Fat Boy Intake Question

I bought my 2005 Fat Boy used. It looks like it had a stage one kit done at some point....V&H Long shots...and it looks like they used a stage 1 air intake with the stock cover. I can only guess that a stage one download was done as there is no fuel controller on the bike. The bike runs great.....the plugs always look good and there is no decel popping...so my question is.....I want to change out the air intake to something nicer like The burst collection intake or something from RS.....since the stage one was already done do you think I could run into a lean fuel issue by doing this?

If in fact the stage one was already done I cant imagine changing the air cleaner will increate your intake at all. I don't think there is that much difference in the flow rate of most of the aftermarket intakes.

I have seen it mentioned on The Forum before that you may be able to have your local H-D dealer run your VIN and see if there is any record of a Stage 1 download on that bike. It won't hurt to ask.

The previous responses are correct. It's possible that your local HD dealership can access the maintenance database and retrieve previous maintenance performed by other HD dealerships. I've experienced this once. Additionally Stage 1 intakes, for the most part, are all basically the same in performance. You should not see any major difference.
