Default Deluxe Laydown Plate Mount

Did any of the Deluxe riders have trouble switching to the laydown plate holder from Drag Specialties?I have the old support bracket removed, but one of the two bracket mount bolts dropped out from inside the fender. I have the bolt but can't find an easy way to get it backto the hole through the fender. The plastic cover for the wiring assembly inside the fender is in the way - along with the rear tire (just not much room to get in there). There must be an easy way to remove the inside cover to get to the bolts/holes, but I can't find it and don't want to force/break anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated !!! Thanks.

To clarify, my real problem is removing the inner fender taillight wire cover (plastic) so I can get to the licence plate support bracket mount holes to re-installthe upper bolt. It's the top portion of the wire cover that I can't remove. Thanks.

Did same thing. There is a nut on the bottom of the wiring harness cover remove it, then pull down on cover. There is a clip that the plastic cover slips in at the top. It is tight but keep working at it say a few choice words and you can get it back in.

What, you don't want to pull everything from the tranny back to the tail light to get the nut? Geez. Mine is still rattling around in the plastic cover...when I pull the rear wheel next I'll get the nut. Plate still rides solid.....

It is much easier if you use a jack to lift the bike up.... thus creating more space btwn the rear tire and fender....
