Squeaking forks???

My '94 Heritage has started an obnoxious squeak whenever the forks depress. Is this telling me that they are low on oil and need to be services (drain and refill)? Any tips beside what the repair manual says???

If you have never serviced them it only takes few minutes to drain them and refill them.
If the seals are still good your problem should be solved.
