I think it handles quite well... The bike has a 21 inch front wheel and takes turns surprisingly fast...

I've never rode a Springer and I know no-one with one so
Tell me whats its like
suspension ??
how does it do on a wash board
How bad /good does it take a pot hole
will I even know the differance
Or are they just old school and a pain to keep clean
Well, I've got almost 60,000 on my '03 Heritage Springer so I guess I like it... It's a great road bike, travels well with one or two people and luggage. It's a great run around bike and I can usually keep up with most anyone thru the turns and hills. It does scrape the floorboards because it rides low...usually freaks people out when I deliberately drag the boards on a long turn. For most people it sounds like the bike is on it's way down but I'm just leaning into the corner and enjoying the sound.
It's also a major attention getter since the chrome springer front end stands out from all the other bikes. I get lots of questions about it and how it rides. Definitely worth it and I'm not selling mine.
H-D Springers are good front ends. You can hear a little spring action when you hit a bump but no big deal. Classic/retro look with modern suspension quality.
You see a Springer and right away you know it's a Harley. I have had a Dyna, Softail custom and now a Springer.Found them all to be close to the same ride andfeel. You can't get any more Harley then a Springer.
I have both a Heritage Springer and an Electraglide. I think that the Springer handlesbetter than the Glide and is really more fun to ride. However, the Glide is a nicer ride and as I approach 60 that becomes more important. In the spring, I plan to sell my Springer as I don't need 2 bikes but I am not real comfortable getting rid of the Springer. There is a lot of chrome on the frontend to polish.
