check engine light issues
A week later I replaced the now removed commander with a V&H fuel pack and it was running great for about 2 months. Now my check engine light keeps coming on. The bike rides, starts, sounds perfect so I thought it might be a plug wire or something like that. Anyway, I took it to harley and the codes are stator, voltage regulator and crankposition sensor (three different error codes). The parts (new stator, regulator and crank sensor) come out to just over 300 bucks but I'm wondering if this stuff is something I should let the HD shop take care of?
After reading the book it looks like replacing the voltage regulator and crank sensor looks pretty easy. I assume I can remove the computer tray under the seat to access the fuse and connenction area to unhook/bolt the wires for these two parts?
I'm not seeing anything listed in the book about replacing the stator? anyone have any links to a how to or is it too big of a job for me?
Thanks for your help fellas, Tim
