how ro clean spokes
I just bought my first harley 2004 heritage classic used with 1240 miles on her I noticed the rear spokes had a white chalk like apperamce to it, owner before me let bike just sit in garage due to health, what is the best way to bring the spokes back to its original shine is there any product out there and has any body esle had this proplem rest of chrome is perfect
Simple Green does an unbelievable job. One of my friends had a Vulcan 800 for a year at least and I don't think he had ever cleaned the wheels. We sprayed them down with Simple Green and let them sit for a few minutes and then just hosed them off. They looked like brand new wheels afterward. It was amazing.
most of the oem spokes i am 99% sure are bright cad plated. they really do not shine like chrome or polished stainless spokes on a good aftermarket spoke or wheel.

Start with the least abrassive method, and work up to the next level until you find a method that gives you the desired results. I would first try some chrome polish and a clean rag. If that doesn't work (if the oxidation looks like it is pretty bad) I would take some 0000 steel wool and a little Mother's Mag & Aluminum polish on the steel wool and lightly rub. Then take a clean white cotton cloth (old T-shirt) and buff. Don't use any coarser steel wool, as it will be more apt to scratch.
