I got my 422's from Phat delivered yesterday. These shocks are fine looking. Read over the supplied directions last night and have a few questions:
1. The shocks come from the factory set to the softest ride?
2. I am 6ft 200lbs& ride solo - want a mid type of ride not too soft not too hard - where should I start out? Also to stiffen ride will use supplied wrench and adjust counter clock wise?
3. I would like to achieve a 1" lower rear. About how far out should I start with the gromet adjustment? I am thinking like half way of total adjustable thread?
I don't know where they start. However from highest preload to lowest is 8 turns. So screw them all the way from one end to the other so you can start in the middle (4 turns). Remember that on the highth adjustment that longer is lower.
I am 225lb and ride solo most of the time. I adjusted them 2.5 turns out from the factory setting . (counter clockwise towards the front of the bike, remember that you are extending the springs to increase the preload).
I have my bike about 1 inch lower than stock and that worked out to be a little less than half way on the adjustment.
Hope that you like them as much as I do on my bike.
