Go against the trend! Get some mids and highway pegs! Best of both worlds. Much better control if you are a peg dragger and like riding the twisties. Floor - boards would be the other way to go if you're down for some easy cruizin'.

No reason not to be comfy.

If I had any "problems" with the forwards it was the first few miles whereI habitually kept trying to pick up my feet from a stopand put them on non-existing mids. But that just took a bit of time to get used to.
I did that for months! After over 30 years riding bikes with mid or under-seat pegs it was a hard habit to break.
It was interesting the first couple of times when I couldn't find the pegs.
I didn't know if I wasgoing tosnap a leg off or worse, drop the bike.

Apparently I'm not that up on "mids"? Whatever my '03 FXSTS has, plus the '01 Wide Glide and '97 Springer Softail that preceded it feels perfect to me. Are the stock ones mid or forward? I always thought of them as forward.

From the first mile I was on one, they just felt right. I sure wouldn't want it on a sport bike, but it's great for cruisers. I'm about 5'11", so not too tall and not too short. Height would seem a pretty natural factor to comfort.

drodgers, I have an 08' CVO Springer also. I installed the Lindby Custom Linbar with Centerline Collection Footpeg Kit (Highway Footpegs). That took care of the problem by giving me several additional positions to put my feet.

Here's a couple of pictures, I hopes the info. helps:

I LOVE mine! WAY better than the floorboards... plus you can lean the bike over and it looks cooler!

I went for a long ride today and I'm getting it figured out a little better. The problem is I am cramped up,I think it would be fine if my long legs were extended further so I wouldn't have to hold my legs together.Placing them on top of the pegs is great.I'll look into extenders or other peg locations.

Who makes these 3 inch extentions that some of you mentioned?

Oh,and I'm a ex knee dragger and I can't believe how well this Springer handles. The new wider 18" tire gives a lot of confidence.Wouldn't want to limit my ground clearance.

I have the Arlen Ness extensions on mine. They move the controlsforward 3" and "out" the thickness of the plate.
H-D makes extensions which look closer to the OE mounts. About the same price for either.
