after much looking, I finally ordered the HD "fang" fork mounted deflectors for my Fat Boy. IMO, they were the best deal going... and looks pretty cool too. - more chrome!!

Sounds good...looks like I'm buying the Harley lowers. If I'm not happy with them, then I'll try the Memphis Shades lowers.
Thanks everybody

On a side note:
Les, whatkind of bags are those? They look like they might work for my bike. I have an aftermarket frame with shortened fender struts. Most standard hardbag brackets won't fit my bike. If the brackets for the bags you have can be mounted anywhere on the hardbag (with a little drilling of course) then they might just fit my fender struts. As you can see in the picture, I'd have to remove my marker lights too...

I have Leather Pro bags they fit in the standard mount bolts.
So I don't know if they would work for you like you want.
They do have a set up for the Duece you might check it out.

They are very nice bags with a cam lock lever attachment system and a pretty good price too.

I was looking at the hard bags in your seat pictures.

The trickey thing for me is how they mount. If the brackets can go anywhere on the bags, by just drilling new holes, then bags like that might work for me. If they need support brackets that mount any other place then the fender strut then they won't work.

What kind are they? Those bags look pretty good, but I think I'd like something with a little more storage...I commute pretty regularly with the bike and have to transport a laptop. I have to wear a laptop bookbag now and it sucks!!!!! If the same manufacturer makes bags that are a little bigger andmount the same way then that might be just what I'l looking for.

BTW, bought the Harley lowers and put them on today. With a little drilling, some spacers, and longer bolts I mounted the lowers to my windshield bracket and it looks pretty good. Now windshield and lowers come off in one nice (quick release)package. Night and day difference with the lowers on there. Blocked 90% of the wind getting past the windshield. I just took an hour long ride (40 degrees out)and was pretty warm the whole way.

Thanks again for all the advice everybody.

Buy the Harley ones. They're cheap. 40 bucks. 60 bucks, somewhere around there. They're even notched so if
you have a crash bar (excuse me, engine guard). I put em on this time of year, and run em til May. Soft lowers when
it's real cold. The really do work. On & off in 10 min (10 seconds on the soft lwr's)
Real cold? In San Jose?

I cut the windshield lower instead... now wind in my face but not on my chest.

They are Harley-Davidson bags. they are bigger than they look.

I doubt if they'll do what you want, without making your own brackets.
Just drilling new holes won't work for you.

Just early in the morning. Once the sun's up, not a problem. Actually it has been a "little" colder than usual.
