I received my new S&S cams and gear drive. A complete set of everything I need. I already have a Mikuni 42 and V&H pipes, & Bug Sucker and was fairly content to stop with the cams.
Then the local dealer emails with a winter special. 95" big bore kit installed for $799.99 with one year warrenty.
My question; how much will I gain with the 95" after the cams are in? This is very tempting to me, but if I don't "feel" a big difference I'm not sure it's worth it.
Would you do it?
Thanks for your answers

see if they will let you do an even swap foryour camsforhotter ones. The worse they can do is say no. Even if they won't do it, get the upgrade and sell the cams. A 95" with hot cams will perform much better than just the 510's (I'm assuming) in your basically stock TC88.
ChromeJunkie, I'm not sure what you're saying about the cams. Are you saying swap or sell my stock cams or are you saying my 510 gear drive cams aren't good enough? I have already bought them and will install next week.

I did my own build, the heads were done by jerry branch chambered, ported and polished with larger valves and springs,10.5 pistons, jugs bored out,S&S 570G gear cams,SE Race tuner map.Runs great around town and when you ride two up plenty of power.Power range starts around 3500 rpm and then you can feel the front end getting light, fuel mileage about 42-45 mpg.
There is NO replacement for cubic inches! Big Bore is much better than Big Stroke The moco increased the stroke on the 07's so they could sell a "Big Bore" kit
Harleys respond to fatter pistons no matter what the cams. MAKE IT FATTER
You will definitely notice a difference if you do the 95" with the 510G cams. I think the earlier suggestion was to upgrade the cams if you can swap the S&S out. Mostly depends on what you want for performance and what you want to spend. As you know, the sky can be the limit if the checkbook will support it.
I did the 95" with 510G setup, staying away from a more aggressive cam because I wanted bulletproof dependability, something I could run 80-85 mph all day long on a road trip and not worry about the motor between my legs!
