Default Decal or Badge ?

I recently posted that I was looking tohave a Custom Paint job done.

I'm really considering it and I guess at some point I need to make a decision on whether to use a Tank Decal or Badge.

A Decal is permanant once clear coated I guess but a Badge can be removed and changed, but there are some really cool original decals.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

How about neither, people that have a clue will still know it is a harley without the additional advertising. better yet if you want the logo how about having your painter airbrush in a custom logo that is completely unique.

+1...wish I could lose the clear-coated HDdecals on my Standard...not happening without a re-paint. NT badges (or nothing at all) would look WAY better IMO.

I've always liked the badges. more nostalgic in my IMO. Harley makes reporductions of all of their originals from the the 40s through the 60's. thats all the badges from the knucks, pans, and shovels. plus any of the new ones too. I'm sure a painter will tell you paint looks better, but thats what they do.

Absolutly.... I have a local dealer that has a set of take offs but he wants $500.

Thanks to everyone for their replies... Tough choice.....

This is what I am considering as far as Paint and I like Harley Decal as well..

Personally, I love the badges. The ones from the late 50s and early 60s REALLY set off the classic Harley look, IMHO.

I put the 61 badges on my Road King.

I also prefer badges over decals. I think they have much more class than a decal.
