RE: Pulled trigger today, 17 year dream. 08 Fatboy, 105th
Right On! Enjoy- I plulled the trigger in March of '07 still can't believe it sometimes that I got a freaking Fatty, and I'm diggin' it- Since my puchase, I have enjoyed some pretty awesome days riding with friends, and would not take back a mile of one of them.
z...z...z....z....z ~ my dream..... going from a 96 to a 107... let the build begin... that's the dream anyway.
RE: Pulled trigger today, 17 year dream. 08 Fatboy, 105th
congrats on the Fatty... and welcome from Houston.
I started out riding mine real slow and deliberate - like the manual says... but after about 100 miles, I just couldn't stand it and now I just run the snot out of it.... if it can't hold up to it... thenI guess I'll go back to a Honda (but, don't hold your breath wating on thatto happen!!)

Hey Tim,
Congratulations! You have excellent taste!
What serial number do you have? HD is only making 4000 anniversary Fatboys, so I am curious which one you have. You've got a printed serial number just above you ignition switch. Mine is #222 of 4000.
My dealer explained that if you shift as advised in the owner's manual, your scoot will break-in just fine. Ignor the god-awful heat you're getting off the motor right now. Getting modified to Stage 1 and putting synthetic oils in all three holes will be an instant cool-down!
Start getting familiar with posting some pics NOW, that way you won't have any problems when your mods begin!

Congrats on the new scoot !
Break in : Make sure the engine is warmed up good before you ride. Then ride it like ya stole it. Do not hold a steady speed for the first 500 mi. Very up and down, but don't be afraid to hammer down once in a while.
Good Luck with your great ride!
