I went 16". I had 14 wild one chubbies, but gave them to my wife. Most have started smaller and ended up going bigger, as long as you don't go over 18". I am 5'6" and have a longer torso, I am just above shoulder height (hand position).

i've got a 96 softail cu(WG) . I want (and love) the apes. My ? is, I have 4" risers and want 16" apes, What lenth cable do i need? I have drag bars on rite now, but rode my buddy's road king w/16apes on it and loved it, i'm sold. Also how hard is it to internally wire these bars yourself? or is it better to have someone else do it for you? thanks.
