Hope everyone had an excellent Holiday - so far!!
Picked up a stock 02 Fatboy just before the snow flew, so now I'm dreamin' up ways to tweak it.
Got most of the cosmetics figured out... over time.
Looking for some ideas of how to get the most "bang for the buck" (I am on a budget) out of the stock 88 without bumping up the cubes and cost- at least for right now. It is carbed, not injected.
I do want to can the stock exhaust for a set of V&H Big Radius 2 into 1's, I'll also re-jet the carb w/a DynoJet kit.
I'm looking for other suggestions that'll give some decent performance upgades with a stock dimension motor - air cleaner, cams, head work, even best plugs, oil, etc.
I am able & willing to accomplish most of the work, other than machining, myself. Looking for experience & advice on things I can accomplish as money allows without a lot of wastedtrial & error, money, and time.
Thanks in advance,
Rando
Before you rejet that OEM carb, consider a different carb. I got a tremedous increase in responsiveness by putting on a Mikuni 42MM carb. This to me is the most bang for the buck. My next mod was high lift gear drive cams. My 02 88" really screams.
