I have a 07 springer classic, Im intersted in getting the V & H fishtail slip ons. Ive read some good things about them, if you have them can you tell me if you like them? Does anyone know where the cheapest place to get them from??

I like mine. I did however develop decel popping which is being corrected by my recent addition of a Thundermax w/auto tune! The installation of the slip-ons is a breeze as one might imagine. Using the stock pipes however, about 70% of your exhaust is going to exit the right side, only about 30% will exit the left side. That is why I am now looking for the V&H True Dual TUBES ONLY!
All in all, I am very pleased with the sound quality..... but like everything else, you add or change something.. that just opens the door for more additions and changes! LOL
I have them on my Springer. They get a lot of compliments but I'm not 100% sold on the sound. The volume is good, the tone is just not deep enough. I've tried both baffels and prefer the regular ones over the quiet ones for overall performance. I would see if you could hear a pair first and then decide. The sound you like may be quite different from what others like.

You might not like the sound because you're still running the stock head pipes which use a crossover. 70% of theexhaust is coming out the right side and being trumpeted out one pipe. Listen to a set of V&H "true duals" and you will be amazed at the difference. You can actually hear each cylinder fire like it should be.
I'd say save some more dough and go straight for the VH true duals, I got the slip ons and I can't wait to change them for the true duals mainly because of the popping I got.
It sucks when you have the slip ons you want but can't get the true dual head pipes by themselves....
there are a couple of things you should be aware of about exhaust any one who has never heard there own bike go by them really does not really know what his pipes sound like. the rider is always hearing it from a different position and believe me it makes a big difference. also some one can be telling you these pipes sound great and they may on his bike but he forgot to tell you he had his heads done and is running a big bore with pistons and cams. This makes a world of difference in the sound between the stock and the built bike more compression amongst other things. All these members can do is give you there opinion on the exhaust and you have to be wise and not make a quick decision in the end you will probably buy what you had in mind from the beginning.
Hey Huey, I got a set for sale on ebay now.......like new, only 500 miles on them. I put D&D Fatcat in Black on for looks. Although the Slip-ons were great, I wanted Black pipes to go with bike's old school look. I'm also including original baffles and Quiet Baffles!!!
