I have the V&H basic slash cut slip ons with V&H true duals. Your question...much louder? Much louder than stock? Yes. Much louder than these same slip ons with the stock headers? A little. Too loud? No.
Thanks. I got ahead of my fingers in my head and completed the question in my head but not on the screen. I did mean to ask if they are much louder with the duals than they were with the stock headers. Thanks for the answer. I didn't think the basics were too loud comapred to stock. I thougt the ones I have heard have a nice rumble without being too obnoxious. I am looking for something a touch louder than stock without being real loud.
Neil,
I also have the basic slash cuts with the true duals (v&h). It does give it a deeper sound...although I have not heard it from the rear while riding, my friends say they sound "real good".
have basic slip-ons 07 rkc ,not to loud have 3,500 miles just put sert download with big sucker.WOW... its a lot more agressive sounding than it was before i did this ..was thinkin about diffrent pipes ,no more i love it.
Got the oval slip ons with tru duals. They sound damn good and not horribly loud. When I get on it, she barks to say the very least. I've never heard it from behind since no one dirves my bike but I am told I can be heard coming from a distance lol. Yet while cruising at speed, I can still hear the stereo without any issues. The best advantage has been the heat loss. It's a dramatick difference. Go get em!
I have the basic slash cut and true duals sound great. The only problem with them is after running them couple hundred miles started getting decel pop and tone changed.Pulled out baffles baffle wrap had slide back exposeing over half of baffle ,got new wrap material and cut about 4 inches longer than stock material and used mechanics wire to tie around material to keep it from moving back again. Checked after another couple hundred miles staying in place now. Vance& Hines says this is a common problem.
