I replaced my V&H ovals after 1000 miles with the Hooker Tuned flow slip ons. (Has external adjustment for torque and hp) Absolutley love it. Sound is a louder than the V&H but not obnoxiously loud.(deeper rumble also)
Will be doing the stage one to my 05 in the new year. What brand is recommended for slips? Was thinking of just the Rineharts or VH.
Smitty
They're both great products but , the answer your looking for is to listen to other bikes before you spend too much money experimenting.[like I did] That could be tough though if your not around other bikes much in a one on one situation. Also pay attention to the bike that sounds good if it's running true duals or the stock header, makes a noticable sound change. Good Luck!
Thanks for the replys,
I will wait for spring and listen to some bikes...
Right now I am going to play on my snow machine, to much white stuff around to miss!
Another vote for Hooker Tuned-Flow slip-ons. Not the loudest, but the biggest HP increase overall.
Another Hooker user here, I just followed the advice of my mechanic. For true duals he recommended the Rineharts which were not released yet, & then the Hookers, if I wanted slip-ons ( 1/2 the price ).
Good sound, classic H-D/bagger quality. Just my 2-cents.....but I'm still a rookie......
yes..wait until spring, and hang out a dealer on a Sat. all day. I did, and decided on the V&H classis slipons, and LOVE THEM!!!!!! Not loud unless you want them to be.....LOL
