I have an 07 Fatboy, I'm having a tough time picking out new handlebars. I got all chrome handlebar controls for XMas, so I guess nows the time to change bars since I don't want to do it again later. I'm looking forgood looking bars but I don't want to sacrifice comfort something I could ride all day without braking my back. I'm 5' 7" I like the look of drag bars but like I said I don't want to reach. Show me your bars if you have pics, and any suggestions would be appreciated.
I got the Harley narrow beach bars on my 08 fb and love the look and fit, I am 5'9", They are the 1 1\4 inch bars with internal wiring, Harley says they wouldn't fit with the nacelle but they fit just fine with the proper risers from harley, I haven't got a picture posted here, having a little trouble with that []but i can e-mail them if you want to see them.
I'm 5'6" and I like the look of the drag bars. I've checked the sites of a number of companies selling drag bars. I think it is Wild One that has a picture comparison of stock bars and an 8" drag bar. Not much of a difference really, just a little higher. For that reason, I'm going to a local custom shop to get them to order me up some bars with an 8" rise. I have done my homework somewhat, and there are a few that are 1 1/2". Hopefully they will be able to set me up. Good luck and I will be watching this thread for others to pipes in with regard to drag bars.
does anyone know the stock handle bar part number for an 06 fatboy? I am wanting to do the same thing, change the bars. I want to look at the chart on the harley site to compare and pick the proper fit.
I did the bars that were close to the stock but had internal wiring on my 2005. I believe they are the 05 SE bars. I rode a FB with drag bars and did not like the way it kept my body "forward", but there was no riser on the bike. I do like Apes, say 16" like HDforum member Anbisss has on his, but I don't know how confortable apes would be on long runs. I have yet to ride a bike with apes, so kind of waiting for that. My sig picture has the SE bars w/ internal wiring.
Take a look at Wild 1 Chubby 504's. Beautiful bars, very comfortable.
+1 I don't like 'em personally but they're certainly comfortable and everyone who has 'em is happy with those. I have HD's 1 1/4" WIDE beach bars and like the looks, but I'd like to go for ape hangers for a change.
