Stock shield fits nicely over the Rush muffler and certainly helps with the heat....those mufflers cook and work wonders on your passengers shoes...read melt...I sealed the joint between header and muffler. I actually read about it here on the forum. I had popping and decel and it was suggested that the exhaust may be drawing air back in when dropping off the throttle. I checked, found air leaks on both pipes at the header and muffler joint. I applied high temp sealer and problem solved.
