Default Heat Shields

I have a new 2010 Heritage and just got my Rush 1 3/4 slip ons. Installation was a cinch and the difference in sound is night and day, but I have one question. Should I install the heat shields that were on the stock pipes? Looks like they would fit, but as I look around, I don't see any other after market mufflers with heat shields on them.

Default Heat shields

Are you talking about heat shields on the mufflers or on the pipes? I have rush slipons on my Heritage and I have the shields on the pipes. Covers the bluing and makes them shiny! lol

I have the shields on the pipes which are stock. I am asking about heat shields on the new Rush slip ons.

Well, can't help you out there. My Rushes did not come with shields.

I just put on a set of Rush slip-ons and no, they don't come with the mufflers. The original shields fit perfectly on the slip-ons. Just transfer them over.

Thats what I did on my Fatboy. They fit perfect. I ran my Rush mufflers with the stock ecm map for a little while and they turned a little yellowish/gold right where the muffler ataches to the header. The shields cover that up nicely.
