Default tank panel

anyone replaced their stock tank panel on their heritage. if so do you have to remove the console and how does it attach to the tank.

i removed the one on my custom and put a pouch on, i had to take the seat off and then undo a screw for the console. its actually a lot easier than i thought it would be. not sure if it's exactly the same for a heritage. the pouch i got came with simple step by step instructions that helped.

1. Take off the seat, remove the small torx screw on the
bottom of the panel.
2. take off the chrome nut in the center of the console.
I say take it off because you need to reapply red loctite.
I used a washcloth and a 6" adjustable wrench so not to
damage the finnish on the nut.
3. there are two small nipples on the bottom of the console
that anchor the panel.
4. Remove the panel clean and wax the tank before you put the
new panel on.
5. reinstall in reverse order I started with the console end first.
use red loctite, I used blue loctite because I like to remove
the console and panel once a year to clean under it.

I got one from circuitcity. video camera bag. just cut the belt strap and put half up under the console and the other half under the seat. The pictures are here.

total cost $20. You can get them in black leather also and just about any size. Good for holding sun glasses, eye drops, air gage, pen, small tools on and yes extra money.
